Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

I know you are greatly sadden by the loss of your brother. My thoughts go with you and your family at this difficult time. Your brother is a great loss for those who care about you and your family.
I will always remember his calls to you on your show: some of his comments were very funny and some were not, but it was always good to hear from him. He will be missed by all of us that liisten to your show. He was like family to us too.
He was funny and smart. Loved how he ended calls to Don with "I love you"
So very sorry for your loss. Fred gave us laughs when we needed it. Not a phoney. Rest in peace with the Lord.
I felt as if I had lost a member of my own family. RIP Fred..........you were and are loved.
WE ALWAYS ENJOYED FRED'S APPEARANCES ON THE SHOW. HE WILL BE SORELY MISSED. OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. EARL, JUDY AND LISA MILLER GROVELAND ,CA
Fred was an anachronism in the very best sense of the word. He stood tall in this world full of phonies and miscreants. Rest in peace.
Iwish you strength I -Man. F - Man was way too cool . R I P FRED IMUS.
My sincere sympathy to the Imus family. I always enjoyed Fred when he participated with Don on his radio show. His exploits with his dogs....and wives was always entertaining. And the affection between Don and Fred was special. May he rest in peace.
we met fred a few years back at the shop in Santa Fe.He treated us as though we knew him for years.
He was gracious and kind. A true gentleman. Rest in Peace
Condolences to the Imus family. Fred was truly a wise and funny sage....his clear eyed observations on life will be missed.
Rest easy, dear Fred, the chores are all done.
I enjoyed the love Imus showed toFred on the air. I have the same sort of relationship with my one brother, who lives in Florida. we are three brothers , with me being the oldest, any way my heart felt condolences to the Imus family.
I think the last appearance of Fred's that I heard was one of the funniest damn things ever to be broadcast. His back and forth with Dagan's sister Megan McDowell will make anyone's highlight reel. When Fred told Megan, paraphrased, "honey I'd like to grease you up, stuff you in the door of my trailer, and try to back you out!" I nearly wrecked my automobile!
I know Fred even though we never met. From my vantage point as a listener, the Imus brothers loved each other unabashedly and weren't afraid to say so. "I love you Fred" was Don's sign off for years with his brother.
We love you Fred.
i loved your brother fred's droll sence of humor--especially when you asked him if he listened to the presidents inaugral speech--he said yes, he listened...for the first two minutes, but when it became apparant the president wasn't going to resign, he turned him off.---I'll miss him--gone but not forgotten--your faithful listener--kevin
I always looked forward to Fred's visits to Don's show. You could tell the special feelings they had for each other. I loved Fred also.
To all Fred Imus family and friends I am sorry for your loss. I grew up in the Bronx, New York, and graduated from University of Albuquerque, so I always felt a kinship with Don and Fred. I will miss him. Billy Eves
I meet Fred at the Hate Radio Rodeo, that was a great couple days. Gods speed Fred Imus
Very saddened by the loss of your brother, Fred. I have enjoyed you both for many, many years. My heart goes out to all those who knew him. A great loss.
May he rest in peace, and his memory be kept very alive.

Don and Fred were just like my brother and me. I lost my brother when he was only 65, so I know somewhat what you are going through. God speed, Fred.
We met Fred at the old Auto Body Express in Santa Fe some time ago. Fred was a very unique individual and he, along with his wit, will be greatly missed.
Long time listener also. You both were grizzled, grumpy, curmudgeons. Your conversations were hysterical, funny, and warm. It allowed us to see the human side of both of you when every call was ended with "I love you." You both built a dream in the Ranch, and lived life on your own terms. May he rest in peace, and may you have peace knowing he was happy.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Imus, Wyatt, and Donny,
We were very sad to hear the sudden news of Fred Imus passing. Although we only heard wonderful stories about him during our stay at the Ranch, we would have
so much liked to have met him. He was quite a fella and his legacy as a true "Man of the West" will be missed by so many of his friends and followers. Please send a
special hug to Donny (Fred's Son) and our condolences to his wife and family. We enjoyed meeting them both at the Ranch and had so much fun together during our
brief stay. Hang in there everyone, we are wishing all of you much better days ahead during this difficult time of your loss.
Happy belated birthday to Mrs. Imus.
Warmest Regards from Chappaqua NY,

Don Imus and family. We were saddened to hear about Fred. We loved to hear him on radio and currently on Fox Business. He was funny and had great come backs when you two talked on the air. We will miss him very much and your feelings for your brother were obvious to all and may the lord be with you and family to help you all thru this time.
Love, Neafie and Peg
