Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

God Bless.
So sorry for your loss. From listening to the two of you on the radio, you could hear the love you shared. It makes you feel good about the world when you witness this. You have my deep sympathy at this very sad time.
I've been an Imus fan since my days in NYC 1970-71. Fred was Imus's best guest by far. He will be missed by all.
RIP Fred, I hope you finally found those cantaloupes!
I have listened to the I-man for decades. Fred was always a welcome interview. I would never leave the show until Fred came on. It was always a great pleasure to hear the love between these two old cowboys.
My condolences, really liked Fred,he was very entertaining, he will be missed.
I never had a brother but having two sons gives me the insight to see how special brotherly love really is. Thank God for the time you had together and that he passed peacefully. I could hear the love you had for each other in your interviews. God Bless you and your families.
Fred will be sorely missed by all...I always made sure to be by a radio or TV when I knew he was going to be on the air...his dry sense of humor and quick wit always made my day a little better and you could always sense the brotherly love between Fred and the I Man...I have fond memories of many of his stories from the past, especially the cantelope story, peeing on the dogs head and more recently him turning off the State of the Union Address when it became apparent Obama wasn't going to resign and him telling "Meaghan McDowell" that he wanted her to get stuck in his trailer door so he could push her out!
R.I.P Fred and condolences to the Imus family and friends....Heaven just got a little funnier!
DEAR IMUS AND FAMILY, MY DEEP CONDOLENCES FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR BROTHER, I LOST MY BROTHER YEARS AGO, I TOO WAS VERY CLOSE TO HIM, MAY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST COMFORT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN THIS TIME OF SORROW.
I want to send my sympathy and prayers to the Imus family. He was a hell of a talker and had a passion for good music. All I can say is God broke the mold when he
made Fred Imus, because they just don't make men like that anymore. His sense of humor and philosphy on life was just simple. He was a straight shooter, a renegade, a poet, and a cowboy.
He will be missed.
Fred was the real deal-a straight talker who always had a way of making others laugh at his insights. Loved his appearances on the radio, loved him on Outlaw Country, and will miss his wit and wisdom. RIP my friend.
FRED WAS LIKE THE CRAZY FAVORITE UNCLE YOU LOVED WILL MISS HIM . DON AND FRED GOT ME THROUGH 37 YRS WORKING FOR THE P.O. BY MAKING ME LAUGH AND FORGET ABOUT THE TIMES THE JOB REALLY SUCKED.MY CONDOLENCES TO THE IMUS FAMILY FRED YOU WILL BE MISSED!

really enjoyed your relationship together, god bless him.
Don and family, I lost my brother 9 years ago. He was 53 and was a lot like Fred. From someone who knows, the pain will never go away but time will help ease it. The memories will never die, embrace them. God Bless.
Sincerely, Trent Murphy
I just want to express my deepest sympathy to you for the loss of Fred. He was one of a kind. The world is a little colder and a little darker now that he is gone.
I have been a loyal viewer of Don Imus in the Morning for years. Never missed a moment when I knew Fred would be on the show. Loved his jokes, especially the real- life experiences. Fred had a calming affect when he spoke. This is a shocking loss of a charming and likeable man. I admired the brotherly expression of love between Don and Fred.
