Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.
Don Imus, Divisive Radio Shock Jock Pioneer, Dead at 79 - Imus in the Morning host earned legions of fans with boundary-pushing humor, though multiple accusations of racism and sexism followed him throughout his career By Kory Grow RollingStone
Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Great sense of humor, the dry type that just comes natural. He'll be missed by many and I'll always remember the show with him and Daegan's "sister"(Rob) where he wanted to stick her in the door on the front of his trailer and try to push her out for a couple of days......not just any one could have come up with that!
Fred is with the angels now. I know how much Don and Fred loved each other and this is a great loss. Prayers are with all of you.
Fred made people laugh, thank you Fred

I'm a long-time fan (I apologize for a hurtful word choice... guess I could have said "listener") since the early WNBC days, and always enjoyed Fred's appearances on your (almost) always enjoyable show. What will I do for football picks now? Sorry for all of us: we lost a good man.
I want to send my sympathy to the whole Imus family. He seemed to be a very good guy. Very enjoyable to see him on the show.

Dear I-Friend ---- Deepest heartfelt sympathy for your loss of Fred
Happy trails Fred
My deepest sympathy on the passing of Fred, he will be greatly missed…my heart aches for his family. He was a natural comedian…once while listening to Fred’s Trailer Park Bash and driving I began laughing so hard I started to cry and had to pull over to recoup.
So sorry to hear about Fred. My condolences to you and your family.
I enjoyed his banter with you.
One of the funniest things I remember was his exchange about wanting to get Megan(Rob) greased up and wedged in his trailer door. I also didn't realize he had a country hit in 1976.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Fred. I am heart broken for you. I always looked forward to his being on "Imus in the Morning." I and others shall sorely miss him.

Don, I believe my favorite "Fred" was when he said he turned off President Obama when, during the President's speech, it became evident was not going to resign. Fred was always funny and was my favorite guest on your show. I hope you saw Neil Cavuto's salute to Fred yesterday. I cried through the whole thing. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Enjoyed Fred's radio show, both the humor and the great music. Gone way to soon. RIP.
Don, I have listened to you on radio and watchede on tv for years. I always looked forward to your telephone conversations with Fred. I am in both of your age range myself and always thought if only I could meet Fred. May he rest in peace he was a very special individual.
