This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

I can't ever remember a time when Fred did not make me laugh - his gift was his timing, Lord, the man had timing. I've been a loyal listener for too many years to count and my thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Imus and his family. In the end, Fred made my day a little happier - and for that I thank him. May God Bless......

The memories that I have of Fred and Don from the show are really special to me. fred had a great sense of humor and comedic timing also the love for his brother was something to be envied. Don felt the same way towards Fred and that does cause a person to reflect on life. I'm in the same age area as Fred and Don , and I felt Fred's passing in a more personal way for that reason. This does define how precious life is and the importance of being genuine about your feelings. Life does go on , but the memories will always be there.

Dear Don, Losing someone you love is always difficult. Losing them suddenly and without warning is devastating. As someone who has experienced this I can empathize with you and share your hurt. I hope your memories and the love of your family sustain you at this most difficult time. R. Andron

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. When he came on the radio, I put my volume way up because I did not want to miss a word of what he said. Many prayers to the Imus family at this difficult time.

Working in the adoption field for many years, I've seen many debates regarding whether siblings in foster care should be separated ... the relationship between Don and Fred supports the incredible imporance of the sibling relationship - the longest relationship most of us will ever have. We appreciate your willingness to share your love for each other. We'll miss you Fred -

Wyatt, you are following in your dad and uncle Fred's footsteps in becoming a good ole cowboy. You are learning great lessons at the ranch with your mom and dad, some harder than others. Thinking of you and your family.

I loved listening to Fred. Quote of the decade..."When it became apparent he wasn't going to resign, I turned it off." Thanks Fred for making our world a better, and funnier, place.
Rest in peace.

Hey, Fred: What about that old line, "I don't want to go to heaven - I won't know anybody."

That was you, my friend.

By the way, Don, were you able to locate those two cantaloupes?

You are already missed... Sorry for the family's loss.

As a daily listener (and watcher) of your show, I was very sad to hear about your brother, Fred. Your love of him was a model for all families to follow. It was obvious to all of us that you never let go of him no matter what path your own life was taking. It was very comforting to hear that his horses and dogs are now at the ranch. My deepest sympathy to the Imus family

My wife and I visited the store in Santa Fe during the time you were building the ranch. After buying some clothes, we asked after Fred. The clerk said he was out to the ranch and on his way back and we should wait. We felt a little intrusive but she assured us he would love to see us. We went across the street to the hotel and had lunch.

When we went back Fred and his Shepard were in his fan chair. He welcomed us like long lost friends and regaled us with ranch stories and just overall friendliness for about a 1/2 hour.

Watching you and your brother have made me be kinder to my one and only brother; no mean trick.

Don, I was so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I will miss him. Should you decide to do a program in Fred's honor, please include Brooks & Dunn's "Believe". Their video features a young boy who looks somewhat like Wyatt. Our thoughts are with you.

We will all miss his phone calls into the show. He always brought a smile to my face.We could always count on him to have something
amusing to say. Take some comfort in knowing he was a bright spot in a lot of people's day.

A long time listner and enjoyed Fred's short lived A.M Tucson radio show.Your call ins to Fred were a blip compared to Fred's daily stuff.Loved it loved it. I loved his "If you don't want to hear it You better not ask. Last fall was out at Cactus Country and stopped by Fred's 5th wheel. The screen door was open and gave a yell for Fred. Of course he came out and sat on the stoop and we tried to cure the worlds problems. When he was feeling good he always took time to be neighborly. We talked of you some "The IMAN likes a front runner" our politics are different. "
That was really nice what you and your wife did for him at x-mas. God bless all of you his children and grandchildren. He was tired and he was ready and what a way to go. In your sleep.
Don keeping segments of what you and Fred discussed on and off the air would be terrific kind of like "The Best of Don and Fred Imus" God Bless you and your family.
Thank you for all you do and what you have done for your little brother.

I'm devastated by the fact that Fred is no longer here. He was one of my favorite guests on the Imus in the Morning show. He never failed to make me laugh and then would say something so profound, he would put all the politicians to shame. You both had a great relationship and I loved listening to you both.
