This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

It says a lot about a person who has 57 pages, from mostly strangers, remarking on his life's meaning. What an amazing man. I will miss him.

Don and family,

My heart goes out to you and your family, although I never had a brother I had too wonderful sisters that were taken form me at a very early age. One at 51 (over 20 years ago) and the other at 61, 10 years ago. It seems like it is never long enough, but the times we had were good ones. I miss them terribly like you will miss Fred. I wish you peace at this time, and soon we all will be together. They will be in our hearts forever.

Dear Imus family,
We are deeply saddened about the passing of Fred Imus. We had the rare opportunity to meet him during our visit to the ranch the day after we were married in New Mexico. Recognizing him in the horse barn, we moved toward him to nervously to introduce ourselves. After we greeted him and mentioned that this was our first day as a married couple, the first thing Fred said to us was " have you had your first fight yet?"... That day was September 6, 2001 ....We will never forget Fred

We were saddened to hear of Fred's passing and know this is a difficult time for you and your family.
Remember you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We just lost our puppy and know that time does heal, at least that is what we are told. Know this will be the same for you.

We enjoy your show and the times Fred has appeared. The love between you was very obvious. Hold on to those many memories!

08/14/2011 Just now heard of Fred's passing as his show came on. Am shocked, and sad, but trust Fred is in a better place. I will really miss hearing him. R.I.P. Fred Imus.

Just wanted to offer our thoughts & prayers to Freds & Imus family. I go back to the very first days when Fred would offer his thoughts on how the political bodies handled the process of politics in America. He always spoke the truth no backing down. We will all miss him & you saying" I Love You" Thanks for being you!!!!!

Don,
I lost my paratrooper brother two years ago ,. It was three weeks after my 75th. Fortunately, most of my siblings had gathered that week, one from as far away as Australia. I thank God that we were allowed that precious time with Tom, (11th ABN). A lifetime friendship has been temporarily interrupted. Yes, God assures we will meet again. You and yours are in my prayers.

his XM radio broadcast...thanks for all the cool stuff fred would say-good or bad! never a dull moment for sure. RIP

I was shocked when I heard the news! Fred was the best. Fred always told it like it was. I got a kick out of how critical he was with regards to his performance on Don's show, and Don would usually reassure him....

Fred was the poster boy for all of us 60+ males. As a newly wed myself I could easily relate to his takes on women, dogs, politics and life in general. That's a scary thought and I will miss him.

I have 3 Auto Body Express work shirts and two other Imus shirts that I bought from Fred back in the Auto Body Days and I never look at them without thinking of him. For years I always got a lot happier when he would call in to talk with his brother and you knew that when Don told Fred "I love you" at the end of every call, that he meant it straight from the heart.

My prayers go out to Fred and all his extended family and to one of my great heroes, Don Imus and his extended family, in hopes that, when the pain subsides, all the memories will be good ones.

Miss you Fred. A lot of laughter just went out of my life.

Keep God happy.
Best/Jim

Don, my deepest condolences, to you and your family. I am a long-time listener, and when you and your brother were on together, your relationship always made me think of mine with my brother. My brother, Brian, died two years ago at age 67. You are all in my prayers.
