This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

I am heart-broken......even though I'd never met Fred, I felt like I had. I loved his sense of humor and you could tell by listening to him on the show that he was a really good, good man. He was taken way too soon and my heart feels for the Imus family.

It's hard to believe he is gone. Fred was a wonderful soul who was funny, right on with many of his comments and ideas but what was most evident was how he loved his brother and his brother loved him. I'm having a snort of Knob Creek tonight in your honor Fred and Don too. My sincere condolences to the entire Imus family.

To Fred: A man who always made me smile with his dry humor and straight talk.

Hang in there Don. Lean on me.

What a huge loss. Fred will be greatly missed, my sympathy and thoughts are with the Imus family. I used to hear Fred and think I'd like to be just like him when I grew up. Problem is, I'm already on the downhill side of fifty - but he was my hero.

I remember meeting Fred when he visited WNBC. He was very funny and charming. His humor will be missed. The love that you brothers shared was the most beautiful thing to witness. Rest in Peace Fred. You will always be an inspiration on how family members should care for each other.

Mr. Imus most of us have regrets when someone we love passes away in the fact that we didn't tell them we loved them. You and your brother "always" expressed your love for each other. RIP Fred Imus

As a long time listner (and watcher) of the Don Imus program, I was in total disbelief when I learned of Fred's passing. He was a very feisty and funny man, as well as very talented one. He added so much to the show. Be strong, Iman.

To all the Imus family.....I am a retired Grandma who has been a faithful listener for many years. I even traveled from Indiana to Conn. for a booksigning...of the book you did together. When I finally got inside, Fred was out front smoking and we had to wait! (which was fine). I loved it when Fred was on.....along with the Priest and the Rabbi....which I also miss.... Fred was one of a kind.....and someone we all could relate too. I know you will take care of his dogs as you are such a blessing to all animals. The world needs more people like the Imus's. You are in my prayers....all of you. Blessings.....M.Lingdgren, Indianapolis

I started watching IITM in '98 when I had open-heart surgery. I always got a kick out of your chats with Brother Fred. So sorry about the loss. Best wishes to all the family and folks on your show.

Our thoughts are with the Imus family. We have such respect for both Fred and Don Imus.

Fred was a great person. It came though on the radio. We liked the stories he told, on the different programs. We got to hear about the animails and people in his life. He spoke his truth from the heart. Thank you Fred for sharing your thoughts, life lessons, and laughter where ever we could hear you. You will be with us always in our hearts. Thank you for being in our lives!

Thank you Don for keeping us in your life.

The times Fred was on your show were some of the funniest spots on the show. I always looked forward to hearing what Fred had to say, I knew I would laugh out loud. My favorites were Fed and Megan and his comments on Obama's addresses-'when he realized obama wasn't resigning he stopped watching'-hillarious, I will truly miss him. My families prayers and toughts are with you Don.

He'll be missed, that is for sure. Maybe he'll locate those two melons he lost years ago.

A Prayer For Fred.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Years of smiles have turned to tears. Fred was one of a kind. I still smile when I think about the story of the cleaning lady and the bug in the bathroom. My thoughts are with the Imus Family at this time of great loss.

We are sorry to hear the sad news about Fred. He was a lot of fun to listen to.
I am enclosing a prayer that has given me comfort since my sister passed away last February from cancer. I pray that it gives comfort to your family, too.

Go thou thy way and I go mine, apart yet not afar,
Only a thin veil hangs between, the pathways where we are,
And God keep watch "tween" thee and me, this is my prayer,
He looks thy way, He looketh mine, and keeps us near,
I sigh sometimes to see thy face, but since this may not be,
I'll leave thee to the care of Him who cares for thee and me.
