This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Fred was a dear person. My vernacular will always contain yuuuuuuup and I remembered Fred every time I said it. Needless to say it takes on a special significance now. I remember once years ago Don telling Fred to stop saying that. But, I loved it and the spirit in which Fred delivered it. I'll keep saying it and will always remember Fred. So sorry you lost him Don, he is missed by thousands if not millions but I'm sure by no one as much as you.
Sincerely,
Ted Genard

What a great human being! Fred could have taught a bunch of clowns here in Washington DC the greatest gif for all mankind: Honesty. Course, the clowns here wouldn't have understood that. Godspeed to the Imus family. Marty Giere

Don, I had my older brother pass away unexpectedly last year at 68 yrs old. Ron, like your brother, Fred, passed in the best way possible:
at his ranch with his boots on. As our brothers, we know they were anything but perfect all the time, which made us love them no less and perhaps even more.
My heart goes out to you in your grieving time and wish you fast healing.

By the way, I too, at 66 yrs old, have had female friends whose behind was as large as my teamroping heel horse's.

This is my second visit to the site. I was hoping that sometime down the road, you could bless us with a compilation of all of Fred's visits on a recording. His wisdom and humour needs to be preserved. I would love to be able to hear Fred, again. He gave me so many big smiles and loud laughs. If you ever sense that Fred visits you at the ranch, let us know. It just seems like that might be something Fred would do... maybe just to check on his horses and let you know he's doin just fine.

I just hired a new cleaning lady and I thought of Fred. Years ago, he explained that he would leave dead crickets around the house in less obvious locations in order to prove the cleaning lady was not doing her job. I sometimes leave little bits of paper under a placemat or throw rug to determine the same thing. Thanks Fred --rest in peace in a clean place!!

I always enjoyed Fred on the Imus In The Morning Show. It was a delight to listen to the good natured ribbing between Fred and Don. Fred's dry sense of humor and excellent timing brought a smile to my face each time I heard his voice. God bless Fred and his family. May he rest in peace.

Wanted to reach Don Imus, to ask him to visit the site littleangelina.org. A little girl recently diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. Her parents are at her side night and day while she receives treatments. They are in need of any type of financial and moral support possible. I know that is what the Imus Ranch is all about.

Didn't know how to post a message to Mr. Imus and the organization, so posted it here in hopes that he may receive it. thank you.

We didn't know Fred but we were still fortunate enough to see the loving closeness you and your family had with your brother. His humor was more than outstanding!!!

Fred had the rare mix of personality and charm that you have to be born with. Have listened and watched since 1990 and Fred was always great. I keep remembering the time there was a fire at the trailer park and Fred called back to check on what was going and was disappointed when they told him that they could not get his trailer pulled up to the fire quick enough to burn, so I know he has a cool place up there in the big trailer park.

Our fear of death is like our fear that summer will be short, but when we have had our swing of pleasure, our fill of fruit, and our swelter of heat, we say we have had our day.

Fred-you showed us all how to say I love you, while we are alive, instead of waiting until it is too late. Every day you gave a smile.

There isn't a day that I tune into the Imus in the Morning show i don't think about Fred.
I always enjoyed his unique take on Politics, sports and world affairs....his perspective was uncannily correct more often than not.His "sometimes" ribald sense of humor always brought a chuckle to my throat.
He shared the I-Man's knowledge and enjoyment of music and it's history. I subscribed to Sirius just for his Trailer Park Bash. Boy I miss that.
I hope Don Imus will publish these comments and also include a list of Fred's favorite songs - I'll place my order now.

I remenber talking to Fred on the phone when Auto Body Express first started,I felt like I was talking to someone that I had known for many years. He was just that kind of guy.I am sure that the Baby Jesus is taking good care of him and all the old cowboys that have gone before him . My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Fred was one funny guy. He lived like many men would like to if they could. Please never let his stories and memories die. May God bless.

I have 9 rescued dogs, the oldest, 18 yrs and the youngest 6 months....5 are sweet Pit Bulls. The very next dog that I rescue will be named FRED in his memory. When you save a dog, it can be a "God Thing" and sometimes God has a sense of humor....so I hope Fred won't mind if "Fred" turns out to be girl dog. I'm sure the doggy won't care. Knowing how much you and Fred love dogs, my next rescue will have a last name, too... FRED IMUS. It will be a treat to be able to say, "I slept with Fred Imus last night." There is one lucky dog waiting out there and I can't wait to meet him or her...I'm coming to get you Fred. I will love you and give you a wonderful home in Fred's honor... The shelters are full, and I wish all the dog lovers out there would go rescue a "Fred" in Fred's memory. I think he would like that. Thank-you.

So sorry about Fred. Met him at Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ when you were promoting "Two Guys Four Corners" in 1997. Had the book autographed for my mom for
her 88th birthday. Mom was a fan of both of you, but she liked Fred better. I told Fred that and he replied "Most people feel that way." May his soul rest in peace.

I loved Fred and his sense of humor. Humor is such a lost character trait that when someone has it, you can not get enough of it.

May Fred be laughing at us all from Heaven. I miss his intelligent yet funny and true sayings.

God Bless Fred.

You know, when Fred passed, it was almost like losing a member of my own family. He was my favorite guest to listen to on the Imus program. For some reason, when his name was announced as a guest, my body would relax and I`d get a smile on my face. We miss you buddy.
