Remembering Fred Imus
Please share your thoughts and memories of Fred Imus, who passed away August 6 at the age of 69
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
The Imus Ranch Foundation was formed to donate 100% of all donations previously devoted to The Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer to various other charities whose work and missions compliment those of the ranch. The initial donation from The Imus Ranch Foundation was awarded to Tackle Kids Cancer, a program of The HackensackUMC Foundation and the New York Giants.

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust
By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

I will never forget the first live broadcast from the ranch, when Fred had to shut the rooster up. It was always fun to listen to the incredulity in his voice when he made a point that was so elementary, he couldn't believe no one else could see it. God's blessings to you all in this sad time.
The brotherly love between Imus and Fred was very evident during their phone conversations on FOX News.
We Always enjoyed it !
Fred had strong viewpoints on politics, family, women, love of God & Country...........
Heaven is a little brighter with Fred there.
Blessings to the entire IMUS family.

We were very sad to hear of Fred's passing. For so many years we enjoyed his funny comments and jokes. They kept us laughing all day! We will certainly miss him.
Our condolences to the Imus family. May God welcome him!
It was always so moving to see the gruff and grumpy brothers close off every communication with " I love you". You always say that just in case you never get to talk to that special someone again and what a beautiful lesson to us all. Take comfort Don in knowing that your brother knew he was loved. I guess heaven needed another cowboy..we will miss you RIP Fred.
We always enjoyed listening to Fred when he was on the show and he always left us smiling. He will be deeply missed and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.
You will be sorely missed Fred. The way you and the rest of the guys bounced off one another was truly magical and always made my morning, if not my day.
He always made me laugh.
I never met Fred but considered him a friend. Our deepest condolences from Louisville, Ky.
Don and Family,
I am very sorry for your loss Fred was a great guy and will be missed very much.
Don, been listening to you and your brother since 1978. My condolences to you and your family. My brother and I share the same type of relationship as you and Fred shared. There is a loyalty and warmth that was very evident between you both. Just wanted to say thanks for the entertainment, I am glad I had a chance to hear you both over the years. Stay well. Dan
John Wayne, Elvis, Johnny Cash and Fred Imus. There all gone now.."my hero have always been cowboys" rest in peace Fred. I will meet you and ole Hank at that gate someday.
I always enjoyed listening to Don and Fred talk on Imus' show - they were always great together. You could tell there was a true bond between them. Saturday mornings will not be the same without Fred's show on Outlaw Country. That was probably my favorite...was a great show with great music. Fred will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his family...both relatives and extended family.
RIP, Fred. I always looked forward to your appearances on Imus in the Morning. You gave me a lot of laughs. Say hi to my cousin, Chuck, who had a fatal heart attack yesterday and is up there with you now. You guys behave!!!

Dear Imus,
I am a very loyal fan of your show and I always enjoyed the call ins from Fred. I especially appreciated that, no matter the topic, you always ended your conversation by telling your brother that you loved him. God bless you for all of the good you do on your ranch and for all of the entertainment you provide for your fans. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To the Imus Family,
Just a very sad time... been listening since I was in high school in the 70s. You have handled this with the same class and dignity that you have handled of your unfortunate and sad events over the last 40 years. I am sure your private moments have been over the last week have been awful... hang in! Fred will continue to watch over all of you and guide you in a way he never could before.
Never met you, probably never will but it felt like losing a part of my own family. Keep up all the good that you do, we will keep listening.
Barbara
Thank you for sharing your brother with us. He was a breath of fresh air.
We're all going to miss Fred very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many many fans.
Many thanks to you and Fred ....for teaching so many folks the closeness of “I love you”, the healing power in a great sense of humor, and the joy that comes from a country song. We pray you and your family find comfort in your memories, and from all those that love you.
Dear Imus,
We were deeply saddened in learning of the passing of your brother Fred. We have enjoyed both of you for many years and we know he will be missed by many especially by his family. Below is a poem given to my wife upon the loss of her Mother. We pass the on to many friends and we pray this will help you.

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free
I'm following the path God as laid you see
I took his hand when I heard his call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another Day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Task left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
The fill it with remembered joys-
A friendship shared, A laugh, A kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My Life's bee full, I savored much
Good friends, Good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee
God wanted me now: he set me free.
So sad to hear the news. I always enjoyed hearing the exchanges between the two. Been watching and listening to Imus for far too many years but everyone else is so perky and I hate perky in the morning. Have been wearing my auto body express shirts for days. My prayers and thoughts to all the Imus family.
Fred was so funny. I'm a fan for 35 years.22 in the NYPD and I always enjoy. RIP Fred Hope you found those things under your clothes and there not still moving.Gotta eat. Anyway Don a good man and I said a pray for Fred. And you do a great job. BTW I did 22 and was a SGT. Bo got off with a scrap knee Really
I revisited the web site to find out who did the portrait of Fred. To no surprise, it was your work. No more powerful portrait of a man has ever been done. Fred's soul was absolutely captured in your work; and it's reminiscent of Yousuf Karsh's portrait of Ernest Hemingway, but more powerful. The years of experience are clearly etched in his face.
I then went to Neil Cavuto's commentary, and watched it again. A fitting tribute from Mr. Cavuto's heart.
Again, God bless you, Deidre, and Wyatt.
I was saddened to hear of Fred's death. I enjoyed listening to you and your brother on the radio.
My sympathies to you, Deirdre, Wyatt, and the rest of Fred's family.
