This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter

Dear Don Don,

Way back in 92

I walked into the room and knew

Never felt this way before

I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes

And the feeling grew

As I took a seat I knew

A love that would have my heart

Forever

I knew

Way back in 92

They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true

We were the exception to that rule

Our love had no where to hide

A spark set fire

As if this is how the universe started

I never doubted our love or what we could do

Together we grew

Forming a bond everlasting

That became our glue

My euphoria was YOU

I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared

For how fortunate we were :

“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”

Until we are together again

This isn’t our last love letter

I love you with all my heart and soul

Yours forever,

Deirdre  (Mrs. Hank Snow)

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.

A True American Hero

I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.

I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.

I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.

But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.

In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.

Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe.  Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.

I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.
I love you Don Imus - A TRUE AMERICAN HERO

David Jurist

A Tribute To Don Imus

Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

Don Imus Leaves a Trail of Way More Than Dust

Don Imus Was Abrupt, Harsh And A One-Of-A-Kind, Fearless Talent

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

We enjoy your show . Fred was a hoot. When one's last sibling is dead there is no one who knows our history. Sympathy to all.

Love your show but Loved Fred more than any other guest. Last week your son came in and told you of death of a calf I think and you mentioned how the death of ranch animals affected him. Can't but think of Wyatt and you at this sad time. God bless Fred and the entire Imus family.

Dear Don Imus and family. I am sorry to hear about the sudden passing of your brother, 14 years ago my brother was shot five times in the head by his father-in-law who suffered from Alzheimers and Dementia. I always wondered about his last seconds of life because of the gunshot hole in his hand probably trying to block gunshots. I try to concentrate on the fun things my brother used to do, which helps bring me peace. I hope that your brother died without pain or anxiety, and I'll say a prayer to bring comfort to your family.
God Bless, Cadillac Jimmy (Sarasota, Florida)

Godspeed to Fred and sympathy to the Imus family. Everyone knows that Fred once peed on his dog. One day, I walked into the living room and my just toilet trained son was trying to pee on our cat. I looked at him and asked what he was doing. His reply: "I'm trying to pee on Saddle (the cat) like Fred pees on his dog."!

My sympathy to the Imus family. Fred was one of a kind. I will miss his appearances on the show. Don, after I lost my only Sister I realized I didn't have anyone to talk about my childhood with. You'll miss him the most.
Sincerely
Don R.

I may have to cancel my xm subscription now. Fred was also the funniest thing on IMUS and I don't know why he wasn't on more. He and Mike Breen were the best. RIP.

Long time listener to the IMUS program. Fred reminded me of my brother. Independent thinker, opinionated and funny. A genuine man amongst men. Our heartfelt condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope you will create a 'Best of Fred' segment so we can smile in his memory.

I am so sorry Imus and family for your heartbreaking loss of Fred. I loved his animal stories and the chicken massacre. I'll miss you Fred.

When I lost my father suddenly too I could not wrap my head around it. I kept on seeing him coming towards me, in the car next to me, down the street and then I would remember he was gone and my heart would break again. When I lost my mother who was sick a long time with Aizheimer' s people would say to me you must be releived. I was not. I was elated! She was in paradise!!

I have to smile when I think of what paradise is like for Fred.

My type of guy, down to earth with a big heart and a bigger sense of humor. A true western treasure. I wish I could have met him when I was out west in 2002. He physically left us too soon- but he left us with a lifetime of stories and memories. My deepest sympathies to Don Imus and family.

R.I.P. Fred Imus. So Sorry to hear this,Gone too soon. I always enjoyed it when Fred called the Imus in the morning show.

I can still recall how surprised I was to hear Fred's voice when I called to order some Auto Body Express T shirts( that I still have). When I expressed my surprised at talking directly to him, he said, in his low key way, "... well, who did you expect to talk to" That was Fred. May he rest in peace.

It would seem that young Wyatt has had to grow up a lot this year. The horse, the calf and now his uncle Fred. That's a lot of sadness for your family. Please accept our sincere condolences.......it was always fun to hear Fred when he was on your show.

Don

The one thing we will remember; on those occasional calls where you and Fred may have had a disagreement you always ended your calls with “I love you”.

We will all miss Fred.

My prayers to you and your family.

Standing on the side of the road, taking a leak, watching for cars, only to look down and see he was peeing on the head of "four legged Fred" - that was Fred, honest, sincere, funny and real. We'll miss him very much indeed. As another writer suggested, a 'Best of Fred" moment to honor the many great appearances. My condolences to the entire family.
