This Isn’t Our Last Love Letter
Dear Don Don,
Way back in 92
I walked into the room and knew
Never felt this way before
I shook your hand while gazing into your eyes
And the feeling grew
As I took a seat I knew
A love that would have my heart
Forever
I knew
Way back in 92
They say love at first sight doesn’t always last or isn’t true
We were the exception to that rule
Our love had no where to hide
A spark set fire
As if this is how the universe started
I never doubted our love or what we could do
Together we grew
Forming a bond everlasting
That became our glue
My euphoria was YOU
I’m eternally grateful for the love and life we shared
For how fortunate we were :
“to have and to hold
through sickness and in health
Til death do us part”
Until we are together again
This isn’t our last love letter

I’m fortunate to have fallen in love with, marry and make a life with the sharpest, coolest, funniest, most rare, bad ass, tender loving, loyal man on the planet, my husband Don Imus.
A True American Hero
I don’t know why it has been so hard for me to write about my dear friend Don Imus.
I certainly know what he meant to me, my family, my charity, my hospital and the millions of fans that listened and loved him for so many years.
I keep reading all the beautiful condolences that people are writing about how much a part of their lives were effected by listening to him over the years.
But what most people don’t talk enough about is what he did for all of us.
In every sense of the word, he was an American Hero. His work with children with so many different illnesses and his dedication to their future was unmatched by anyone I have ever known or heard about.
Besides raising over $100,000,000 for so many causes, he took care of young people for over 20 years in a state where he could not breathe. Along with his incredible wife Deirdre, he created a world where children were not defined by their disease. That was a miracle! He was a miracle.
I will miss him ever day for the rest of my life.
I was blessed to be a part of his and Deirde’s life.
No one will ever do what he did.

A Tribute To Don Imus
Children’s Health Defense joins parents of vaccine-injured children and advocates for health freedom in remembering the life of Don Imus, a media maverick in taking on uncomfortable topics that most in the mainstream press avoid or shut down altogether. His commitment to airing all sides of controversial issues became apparent to the autism community in 2005 and 2006 as the Combating Autism Act (CAA) was being discussed in Congress. The Act, which was ultimately signed into law by George W. Bush in December of 2006, created unprecedented friction among parents of vaccine-injured children and members of Congress; parents insisted that part of the bill’s billion-dollar funding be directed towards environmental causes of autism including vaccines, while most U.S. Senators and Representatives tried to sweep any such connections under the rug.

By Michael Riedel - The one and only time I had a twinge of nerves before appearing on television was when I made my debut in 2011 on “Imus in the Morning” on the Fox Business Channel. I’d been listening to Don Imus, who died Friday at 79, since the 1990s as an antidote the serious (bordering on the pompous) hosts on National Public Radio. I always thought it would be fun to join Imus and his gang — news anchor Charles McCord, producer Bernard McGuirk, comedian Rob Bartlett — in the studio, flinging insults back and forth at one another. And now I had my chance. I was invited on to discuss to discuss “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” the catastrophic Broadway musical that injured cast members daily.

Have enjoyed many hours over the years listening and viewing the freakshow and loved the moments with Fred. His irreverence, wit and satire often added a whole new level of insanity to the morning. Beyond the show, however, Fred had to be a very special person to the Imus family. How else could a brother speak so lovingly of his partner in the Autobody Express. My family's thoughts are with the Imuses today. Deepest sympathies Don. RIP Fred Imus...you will be missed.

Fred was part of my family like all of your show since 1994. I am saddened for Fred's passing. I offer my prayers and sympathy for you, Diedre, Wyatt, and all of your family! Despite your curmudgeon persona, you are the most tender and considerate Wrangle in the world!
It was always a treat to see Fred on the show. He and Don never ceased to crack me up with their playful banter. Very sorry for the family.
One of my all-time favorite books is Two Guys Four Corners. It sits on the favorites shelf in my bookcase. Also, I loved Fred's wonderful and wacky sense of humor. I offer my condolences to the entire Imus family. RIP Fred
When I got a cat in 1998, I named him "Four-legged Fred", in honor of two-legged Fred and his dog. I enjoyed Fred's (the two-legged one) wit and insight. I had the pleasure of meeting both Fred and Don at a book signing in New Canaan, CT and will always remember how gracious they both were. Fred's "Sport Lock of the Week" was must-listen radio back in the day. I will miss hearing Fred on the air. My deepest condolences go to all of us who loved and enjoyed Fred.

I always looked forward to Fred's appearance on the Don Imus show. If I couldn't watch it I would DVR and see it later. He had a great sense of humor and was a salt of the earth person. I could tell the love between Fred and Don. It is a sad day...will have a beer and play some outlaw country......one of the old cowboys has ridden into the sunset.

My heartfelt condolences to Don, Deirdre, Wyatt, and to the Imus radio family. How sorry my daughter and I were to hear of Fred's passing. The conversations between brothers on air often had my daughter and I laughing until tears filled our eyes and we were gasping for breath. Fred was a smart fellow with common sense and a terrific sense of humor. He'll be greatly missed.

Fred's football pics were great! He played real county music on Outlaw Country. I wish my brother and I had the same relationship. Do you think the "Fred Shirt" value will go up if I put it on e-bay? God Bless Fred, Don and me.

I am very sorry for the Imus family loss. While I am just a listener, I have been listening for many years. The Imus family is in some ways a part of my family. Fred passed at such a young age, may he rest in peace.
To the Imus family, I loved listening to Don and Fred.. Fred's football picks , and the stories. He is gone ,but not forgotten..

I was so very sad hear that your brother Fred passed away.
I always looked forward to his spots on Imus in the morning.
He was funny even when he was not at his best. Watching you talking to him we all knew
How much you loved each other. His Facebook posts always brightened my
Day. My auto body express items I got from Fred were some of my favorite items I own.
Calling in orders and talking with Fred were priceless.
I was sad when Dear John died and know Fred was taking that very hard.

I am so saddened by Fred's passing. I considered him a good friend. Bob Sellman introduced me to Fred when we were doing business during the Auto Body Express days. It was one of the most enjoyable times in my life. I took out the Fred Book that he autographed for me and read it all day yesterday in his honor. He was a sweet , kind and truly humble man who always made all of us laugh whenever he appeared on Don's show. Fred you were the best--and I will miss you so much. You will always be in my thoughts.

If there are cowboys in Heaven, Fred is one of the cowboys I want to meet one day. Good Ride Cowboy.
I still smile thinking about Fred's clean dog when Don asked if the Poland Spring was delivered before his visit a few years back.
